Lord Mayors Show In London

Hi All
Another blog post coming your way! On Saturday the 10th November, a few New College Students and I went to London to watch the Lord Mayor being crowned Mayor. We were actually taking part in the parade.
We had to be there at 6:30 am at the fountain so getting up at 5:30 was not pleasant!
Then when we were at the fountain, we waited for the taxi which would take us to Worcester Shrub Hill Station. When the taxi arrived, we got in and went to Shrub Hill. We were all excited as this was all our first time! When we got to Shrub Hill it was time to wait for our train, which would arrive at 7:08 am. When the train came, we all used our guides and canes to get on the train and find seats. When on the train, a few of us went to sleep, as we were all tired from getting up early, a few of us played our Ipods and a few of us just watched the scenery go by!
When we got to London after a very very long train journey, we found our place in the parade, which was number 13, unlucky for some! We were number 13 out of 100!
When we got to our parade we waited for our turn to move, because we had to wait for the other carrridges and the band to move. When we finally started walking it was quite a fast walk, but good because we got to wave at all the crowds and a few younger kids gave us a high five! I high fived about 10 kids in a row at one point!!!
Then an hour after that it was lunch time. We had packed lunches and we sat by the river Thames overlooking the London Eye to eat our lunch which was a lovely view.
Then we had to walk again and we again got high fives on the way back! I was surprised at how many people were there!
On the way back I saw someone with an Ipad, and me being creative made up a new word, the word is Ipapped because the crowd were our paparazzi and we had our photo taken by an Ipad!! Genius!
Then when we got back to the street we started on, we got to watch the other floats go by! it was great because when you are actually in the parade you don't see the floats, so we got to see them.
Then it was unfortunately time to go back, after a lot of walking, hand waving and time for our long journey back to Worcester. All in all a great day and enjoyed by all! The best bit was being there! The sights, smells, and sounds of it all were just incredible! I will definetely come again!
